Last week, I wrote a little piece on the interesting bond between soft-drink manufacturerer Coca Cola and the fashion world. While the last post covered their ongoing partnership with designers and labels who are asked to redesign the famous Coke bottle, this post gives you an insight into some actual garments and two fashion lines that the brand has created over the last years.
These two collaborations seem to be focused on Asian and South-American markets which is pretty interesting. For example, it looks like the brand wants to position itself as a young, trendy and lifestyle-oriented product by using the affection for western products and their heritage in Asia.

This week, Thierry Mugler announced the departure of Nicola Formichetti, the stylist-turned-Creative director. Shortly after, Diesel's mastermind Renzo Rosso presented the designer as the first ever creative director for the Diesel brand. He will be responsible product, marketing, and communication divisions of both Diesel and its Black & Gold line starting with his first collection for Fall/Winter 2014.

I have always liked wearing hats, even as a kid I sported a basecap on the regular. That's why I have decided to choose some of my favorite caps for this edition of MOLIMU essentials. I started collecting hats when I was a little skater kid back in the day and haven't stopped since. Even though the canvas stays the same, my choices and habits of wearing basecaps have changed quite a bit over the years as a result of changing interests and trends.

When it comes to shopping, everyone has these items that they have always been obsessing over but simply couldn’t get their hands on yet, wether for financial reasons or due to limited availability. I am in the unfortunate position of having far too many of these items which can be pretty depressing but also serves as a great motivator. As a result of exaggerated prices and the increasing amount of fakes, the search for sources that still offer these items has become something of a treasure hunt for those in the know. Some of these products were only hyped up designs that did not really stand the test of time and I am very happy that I did not spend any money on them. On the other hand, I have some long-time favorites that have always intrigued me and still excert this special aura of great design mixed with limited numbers. I decided to write about some examples that I will hopefully call my own one day, but as for now can only admire and obsess about on the Internet.
To start things off, I’ve chosen one of my favorite accessories of all time: the Louis Vuitton x Stephen Sprouse Graffiti Pareo scarf.

While Supreme NYC has become some sort of a two sided sword over the last few years and the explosion of Hipsters, I still hold the brand in high standards. Even though the undeniable rise in popularity has become a little annoying it isn't their fault for putting out quality pieces season after season.
I do have to say that the sheer amount of product that Supreme is putting out these days is a little overwhelming and certainly causes some pieces that fall off. Therefore I picked out my favorites of this season.

For this edition of the MOLIMU influencer series I have chosen actor Jon Hamm for his role as Donald Draper in the fantastic TV-series "Mad Men". By now everybody should have heard of the TV-show that perfectly re-enacts the 60's advertisement industry with its particular style and sometimes rowdy behaviour.
Don Draper somewhat portrays an edgy rags-to-riches story in line with other fictional characters such as Jay Gatsby from F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The great Gatsby". As this novel is probably my favorite book ever written, I am clearly intrigued by the successful yet secretive upcomings of both characters.

For the second installment of the "MOLIMU Influencers" series I have chosen Nickelson "Nick" Wooster who is one of my favorite individuals in the fashion world and a great inspiration for anyone who loves menswear!
Wooster has worked in the fashion industry since he was 16 with short interruptions for his studies in journalism and advertising as well as a short gig as assitant account executive at Saatchi & Saatchi. Other than that he has come around quite a bit, mostly working for big departement stores or in the luxury fashion segment.

Since I earned my own Letterman's Jacket during a High School year in the US I have been a fan of Varsity Jackets. Lately I'm looking for a new one that isn't as flashy and a little more fashionable than my original jacket and while searching I stumbled upon the brand "House of Billiam".

Marc Jacobs has provided a first look at his upcoming Spring 2013 line and it is actually suprisingly exciting. After Kitsuné has shown how well a collection inspired by F. Scott Fitzgerald can look, MJ has tken the same route. This time it is not "the Great Gatsby" who provides the theme, but another favorite of mine " Tender is the Night". The looks are therefore a great mix of classic pieces and colors, spiced up with some colorful looks and all over prints.
It looks like it's time to start saving up for next spring.

I've always liked the militaric aesthetic of Balmain garments. Therefore it's no suprise that the lookbook for Fall /Winter 2012 doesn't dissapoint. It seems like Olivier Rousteing was certainly a good choice for the brand. The collection was inspired by Russian Imperial Army uniforms and combines classic Balmain looks and materials with a fresh coolness. No wonder that everyone seems to love the label nowadays!

agnès b has just showed her Spring/Summer 2012 collection and while most looks are really basic with subtle colors and greek influences, you can see my standout piece above. A simple sweatshirt that shows a facade which features stencils from famous street-artist Shephard Fairey aka OBEY. I really like the look and the wide neck and would definately wear the sweatshirt even though I'm not really a fan of all over prints.

With only 25 years Oliver Rousteing presented his first collection as the successor of Cristophe Decarnin who has kicked off the military look that has been trendy for the last couple seasons. Rousteing surely faced big footsteps to fill out when he took over as designer, but his first collection looks quite promising to me. He kept the decadent materials and rock influences from Decarnin while implemementing new touches like pastel-colours. There are some fantastic pieces in this collection from the blousons to the shoes, I would find something to wear in every single picture! But for now I will probably have to go with the tons of copied pieces from other brands and fast fashion retailers, since prices for anything Balmain are far out of my range! Life can be so cruel...

Wow, Emma Watson has come a long way since she started out in the Harry Potter movies! Now, Mr. Mario Testino himself has shot a new editorial with her for the newest US Vogue and boy does she look vampy, but still with a young and happy edge to it. I really like the shot, you can see the rest after the jump!
