MOLIMU essentials: The All Gone Book - A collector's bible
5:43 PM
The “All
Gone“ book series by Michael Dupoy has been a staple for every streetwear
connoisseur for the couple last years. I’m still quite angry with myself for
not getting the earlier editions while they were still available in the Online
Shop a while ago, but nevertheless I will probably get every book that they
release in the future.
Dupoy, who
emanates from the in-crowd around the Ed Banger crew in Paris has been churning
out excellent work with his ventures La MJC and Cool Cats (which will be
transformed into Club 75 in the following months). As a side project, he
decided to release the “All Gone” book: a collection of the best collaborations
and products in streetwear from each year.
Hence, the
book quickly evolved into the “bible” of the urban scene and is now a sought
after collector’s item itself. Released in a normal design which is already
limited and a collector’s colorway which is even more limited, the book is presented
to the public on a release tour throughout the world. These release-partys are
always great fun as they take place in the world’s best Sneaker and Urban
Fashion shops like Colette, Solebox, Patta and UNDFTD.
Last year,
I attended the party at Colette in Paris which was packed with tons of cool
people like Busy-P, the UNDFTD guys, Michael Dupoy itself and so on. You could grab
a signed copy of the book as well as a drink and probably also buy some of the
products that were shown in the book.
This year,
I ordered the book online from SOTO in Berlin and they were kind enough to send
me the limited edition version which now has a comfy spot in my bookshelf. The
book serves as a great archive to look back at if you want to spot the year a
shoe was released or just to reminisce on what could have been if you were
smart enough to cop this KAWS sculpture some years ago when it was still
available.
I took some
pictures of the books for you to get an idea of how the product is presented. Make
sure to check out Michael Dupoy’s Instagram for some shots of the release
parties and the accompanying special releases like the “Parra x All Gone-Sweatshirt”.
