MOLIMU Influencer
influencers - Jan Henrik M. Scheper-Stuke
1:52 PM
Since I started this blog, I have always wanted to start a column that was
about influential people, style icons or other inspiring people that have
had an impact on me. Now, I finally found the time to sit down and start
this new series called "MOLIMU: Influencers".
I will probably write about some obvious choices, from film-stars to
musicians and fashionistas, but to start of I tried to pick someone that
many of you will be unfamiliar with: Jan-Henrik M. Scheper-Stuke.
This young man has made quite the name for himself in the fashion world by
applying a modern twist and fresh attitude to the somewhat traditional
and rusty market of men's neck- and bow-ties.
By showcasing his outgoing personality and clean dandy-inspired dress
code, he has certainly become a business savvy entrepreneur that should
inspire a new generation.
Of course it would be the easy way to start jealous rants about the fact
that he inherited the position of junior chef in one of Germany's traditional tie manufacturers "Edsor
Kronen" from his uncle at such a tender age. But I think that first of all no one should be blamed for being lucky and moreover his impact on the company clearly proves that
this man can stand the pressure. He has the necessary vision that is
essential for reimagining such a traditional brand.
When Mr. Scheper-Stuke took over business he faced the task of keeping
balance between traditional structures and attitudes within the company
and revamping the brand to reach new customer groups.
By making appearances all over the place from social happenings in Berlin
to TV-shows and magazines, he started his campaign and definitely put the
name "Edsor Kronen" back out there. As a result, he targeted many new
customers which lead to a diverse customer base from all ages and social
standings.
Somehow he managed to keep a clean and authentic profile while getting the
attention from nearly opposed audiences. Whether he is speaking to a young
target group on MTV Home or making waves among the "upper-class" on
charity events, he always stays true to himself. This also shows in his
personal dress code which always features a bow-tie as opposed to a
regular neck-tie. Instead of compromising his own taste to market his
company's products, he clearly sticks to his persona by stating that
neck-ties are simply not the right look for him. He manages to say this
without alleviating the product, but simply urging his clientele to stay
true to themselves.
For more information on himself and his company check out his "Freunde von Freunde"-feature and the Edsor Kronen Website.
