The Nike x UNDFTD „Bring it back“ pack will come out this weekend
5:24 PM
There are some sneakers that you always wanted in your collection, but were either too young when they were released, didn’t have the money back then, weren’t willing to camp out or still don’t have the money for the exorbitant reseller prices right now.
I
have plenty of these shoes, to name a few standard holy grails: the Supreme x
Nike Blazers, the Parra Air Max, any of the Yeezys (1 or 2), any of the Louis
Vuitton x Kanye West shoes, the Glow in the Dark Air Max 180’s and too many of
the Jordan releases to even start listing them.
One
of these releases has always been the UNDFTD Dunk Hi, a clean and simple shoe
that stands out because of its perfect simplicity. The shoe was released back
in 2002 and now goes for a couple thousand bucks at consignment stores. Eleven
years later, the sought after shoe will be re-released as part of the UNDFTD “Bring
it Back” pack.
The
pack consists of the already mentioned re-release of the classic Dunk as well
as a transition of the design to the newer silhouette of the Nike Hyperdunk. Personally,
I think the idea of creating a pack that shows the transition of the shoe is a
perfect idea. While I tend to prefer the classic look of the traditional dunk,
there has definitely been a shift over the last few years towards a more
tech-inspired high performance design approach. This clearly shows in this
release and I have to say that I like the all-white Hyperdunk much more than many other releases like the
LeBron “South Beaches“ for example. Especially cause it mixes the classy look of a traditional Gumsole with the modern materials on the upper part of the sneaker.
It
is great that the UNDFTD crew were able to keep this pack a secret until less
than a week of the release, that’s quite the challenge in these modern times of
internet word-of-mouth on different SOME channels!
In
Germany, the shoes will be released on Saturday February 9th at
Solebox and Firmament in Berlin as well as N/GH in Cologne. Let’s hope that
there is no need for camping!
