Last Sunday, I went and visited the current Rankin exhibition at the NRW Forum Düsseldorfand was quite impressed by the versatility of his pictures. The NRW Forum is byfar my favorotie museum in our lovely city because it caters to youngeraudiences as well as to more sophisticated visitors.
Theexhibition itself was put together very nicely with different themes to describehis extensive catalogue of photos. Of course there was a lot of fashionphotography involved, boosting the typical Rankin “less-is-more“- approach whenit comes to clothing. Next to the signature nude photos there were also somevery interesting projects that I didn’t know of.
Especially his collaboration with Damien Hirstand a lot of the celebrity portraits were quite impressing!
In accordance to the photos, the exhibition containsa very interesting short documentary on the photographer and his work.
I strongly urge you to visit the museum,unfortunately this exhibition only runs until January 13th.
