A couple weeks ago, I wrote a post on how much I dislike the ongoing trend of ripping off Designer logos. These days it his hard to walk down the street without seeing some a cheap-looking and poorly-made logo print on a T-Shirt or tote bag.
While I focused mainly on the negative aspects of this trend, the team at Highsnobiety see it from a different angle. You should certainly check out the very interesting article that somewhat extends my thoughts towards the impact on fashion culture in general. While I still dislike many of the prints, the article points out some very positive possibilities that come along with a smaller gap between luxury and streetwear brands such as new forms of collaboration.
The post is definately worth a read and the blog itself is currently one of the best out there so be sure to check it out!

Nowadays the Internet is not only a source of inspiration but also an incompliant platform when it comes to intellectual property. While big fashion brands have always been inspired by youth and street culture and probably have even ripped off artists and smaller labels, it becomes pretty obvious when you are jacking ideas these days.
Jeremy Scott now faces exactly this situation as it seems that he created the prints for his latest Spring/Summer 2013 collection to a large extent by basically using the exact designs from legendary skateboard graphic designers Jim and Jimbo Phillips.
The two designers who were responsible for many popular board graphics during the Bones Brigade era, such as the Screaming Hand and many trippy faces, have now pointed their fingers on Jeremy Scott for using some of their legendary designs without permission or any clearing payments.

After long weeks of constant studying, exams were finally over this week and therefore I was able to do all the things that I've been wanting to last few weeks. After celebrating the end of exams with a couple good partys, I visited the Bryan Adams "Exposed" exhibition today at the NRW Forum here in Düsseldorf.
The exhibition was basically split up into an extensive selection of celebrity portraits and a small but very impressing series on disabled British soldiers. While Bryan Adams is mostly known for his music, his photography skills shouldn't be underestimated!

For this edition of the MOLIMU influencer series I have chosen actor Jon Hamm for his role as Donald Draper in the fantastic TV-series "Mad Men". By now everybody should have heard of the TV-show that perfectly re-enacts the 60's advertisement industry with its particular style and sometimes rowdy behaviour.
Don Draper somewhat portrays an edgy rags-to-riches story in line with other fictional characters such as Jay Gatsby from F. Scott Fitzgerald's "The great Gatsby". As this novel is probably my favorite book ever written, I am clearly intrigued by the successful yet secretive upcomings of both characters.

There are some sneakers that you always wanted in your collection, but were either too young when they were released, didn’t have the money back then, weren’t willing to camp out or still don’t have the money for the exorbitant reseller prices right now.
