Colette Carnaval - 15 years of retail madness
9:31 AM
Arguably the most boundary-pushing and trendsetting store in retail over the last 1 1/2 decades, Colette has celebrated their birthday with a super sweet 15 party that was far more entertaining than the ones from spoiled little teens seen on MTV.
The three day long party with the title "Colette Carnaval" marked a highlight in Paris and I am sure that the "jardin des Tuileries" hasn't seen an event like this since the royal family's partys a few centuries ago.
The store invited numerous brands, artists etc. to come up with little booths, workshops or games to entertain visitors of all ages. It seemed like everyone tried their best to come up with something original and funny. This way visitors could take ballet classes from "repetto", play Basektball on the "Nike"and "Pigalle" court, buy sneakers on the "Solemart" by "Solebox", watch Kevin Lyons paint a car by "Fiat", jump in "A Bathing Apes"'s banana pool or get their nails done at "Uslu Airlines".
On top of this there where excellent musical guests on hand like MOLIMU's favorites Busy-P, Radio Soulwax or even Kid Cudi!
The fact that a retail store can even get the permission to celebrate its birthday at such an important place in the city of Paris shows not only the influence of Colette, but also tells us a lot about the significance of creativity and fashion in french society.
