Nike Air Yeezy 2's release is coming closer

8:16 PM

Since the sneaker game hasn't been very exciting recently, this collabo is definately a breath of fresh air. The second pairing of Nike and Rapper, Designer and Style-icon Kanye West has created a buzz that we haven't really seen since the classic releases of the Staple "Pigeon Dunks" or some of the Supreme collaborations.

And after spotting the shoes on Yeezy's feet for quite a few months, we finally got good quality pictures and a release date this week: April 13th. It looks like this date counts only for the US though, as "The Good Will Out" in Cologne gave out the news today that the release will be pushed back a few weeks here in Germany!

The only other store that will carry the shoe in Germany is "Solebox" which is quite an interesting move since I remember talking to the owner Hikmet a couple years ago about a dispute with Nike that led to Solebox not carrying the brand anymore. I am glad that they seem to have overcome their differences and hope for some interesting collaborations in the future.

The shoe itself is more appealing than the first edition in my opinion. It has various egyptian themed details, like the logo on the tongue which features a symbol of the god "Horus" or different signs on the strap. The uppers consist of various materials like nylon mesh, suede and most notably snake skin leather. The shoe also sports a Glow-in-the-Dark sole and an interesting heel that looks good but seems quite copied from the Hussein Chalylan for Puma shoes.
The shoe will come in 5 different colorways. Three of them will release exclusively in the US, while Asia and Europe will each have one exclusive.

While the retail price of 250$ isn't quite cheap, I am sure these shoes will be sold out in a minute and I might actually try and take a shot at it myself. But I will never ever take a tent and camp outside a store for  6 weeks like some guys in the US do (look at the video!), get a life and maybe a job!
