John Galliano becomes teacher at Parsons and is rumored to be newdesigner at Elsa Schiaparelli!

Wow it looks like the fashion world has forgiven disgraced fashion designer John Galliano after he has kept a very lowkey profile and has apologized for his anti-semitic remarks 2 years ago in Paris. I hope that his remorse about his actions in the past was honest because the fashion world has been yearning for some of his imagination and larger than life designs.
After his involvement with Oscar de la Renta in the beginning of this year, it comes as no suprise that Galliano is coming back in full effect. He is and has always been respected as one of the most gifted and creative names in the fashion industry who has always had a strong following.
At Parsons The New School For Design, he will teach a course titled “Show Me Emotion” that “will be a dynamic and intimate opportunity for our students to learn from an immensely talented designer.” as Parsons announced on Monday. While I think it's unlikely that Galliano will spent time in New York on a weekly basis, it's a great sign that the somewhat introverted designer is willing to pass on his knowledge to an aspiring class of future designers.
What's even more exciting though are the rumors about him coming back to what he's known for best: creating fashion! Apparently Galliano will take over as head designer at the eccentric label that hasn't been around for over 50 years. The rumor was started by W magazine's Stefano Tonchi and it would actually be a pretty good fit. Schiaparelli's fashion was always eccentric and unconventional, a characteristic that matches John Galliano's style and persona perfectly.
Italian designer Elsa Schiaparelli founded her label in the 30's and became famous for her extravagant and bold designs. She was the first designer to use zippers in Haute Couture and had the scene going crazy with her "Shocking Pink" collection that featured skeleton pieces. She was muse to Dali and Jean Cocteau as well as lifelong rival to Coco Chanel. Her garments are some of the most sought after pieces for fashion collectors and I think that a relaunch would be great.
We will see if the rumor is true, but nevertheless it looks like John Galliano is back!
