• Kanye West and Jay-Z – Otis

This is the third song of the highly anticipated “Watch the Throne” album that Kanye West and Jay-Z have let loose of. The Otis Redding sample is just ridiculous and I really love the energy. I have to admit that the lyrics are just average, but I mean average lyrics from these two are still better than 90% of what’s playing on the radios these days. The artwork seen in the video, as well as the album's cover are designed by Givenchy's designer Ricardo Tisci!

• Calvin Harris - Feel So Close

The first couple new tracks from Calvin Harris’ third album haven’t really impressed me too much. “Awooga” was nothing special and “Bounce” was entertaining but not really captivating. “Feel so close” is much better and more playful, this one has definitely lifted my hopes for the album.

• D-Why - Shooter McGavin

I recently stumbled upon this guy on the Internet and just watched the video to this song because I really liked his style. His flow his pretty good, his gestures seem like he’s trying to hard, but overall you wouldn’t expect such a strong song from his appearance. The beat is from Childish Gambino’s “Freaks and Geeks”. If anyone has a heads up on what kind of brand that jacket is please tell me!!!

• John Legend - Everybody Knows (RAC Remix)
John Legend - Everybody Knows (RAC Mix) by RAC
I have always enjoyed listening to John Legend and his debut album is still one of my favorite records. This laidback remix by RAC is just pure goodness, but how could it be any different?! I mean every single song that RAC remixes is gold!

• Clams Casino - I'm God

Nike Pool from Defgrip on Vimeo.
I heard this song as the background music for the above video and fell in love with the melancholic dreamy atmosphere right off the bat. Clams Casino is also the go to producer for the upcoming rapper Lil B who has been gaining quite the attention in the US. This song is actually the beat to his song “I’m God”, but I prefer the instrumental version because this way the perfect Imogen Heap sample comes out the best.

• Madeon - Pop Culture

Madeon is a 17 year old French kid that seems to be blessed with tons of talent. Not only are his songs all extremely catchy, but the above video shows how well he can handle the MPC. On top of that the song just shows a great knowledge of current pop music.

• Yann Tiersen - Le fabuleux destin d’Amélie Poulain (Nico Pusch Remix)
Yann Tiersen & Nico Pusch - Die Traumhafte Welt der Amelie (COMING SOON ON 12" VINYL) [snippet] by Nico Pusch

I have been looking for some good Yann Tiersen remixes for quite a while now. His “Amelie” soundtrack is still one of the best movie scores I have ever heard and I have always thought that the songs would work perfectly in an electronic context. So far I have been pretty disappointed with all the remixes I found, until I heard this germ from german DJ Nico Pusch!

• Frank Ocean - We all Try
We all try (Frank Ocean) prod.Happy Perez by happyperez

This guy is probably the most talented RnB artist that has come up in the last 3 years and he’s getting major hype in America. I mean being featured on 2 songs of the Kanye/Jay-Z album without having released an actual album is pretty big!

• Wale - Bad Girls Club feat J.Cole
Wale - "Bad Girls Club" feat. J. Cole by RalphFolarin

Wale is such a talented MC, that’s why I was pretty irritated when he signed to Rick Ross’s Maybach Music Group this year, but it seems like he still knows that he’s at his best when he isn’t trying to be a gangster. A J.Cole feature part doesn’t really harm either.

• Example - Stay Awake

This song is basically what I used to love about Calvin Harris’ music except it’s not Mr. Harris! I have mostly heard Example on feature parts before, but I really like this tune!

• Theohilus London - Wine and Choclates

I love everything about Theophilus London his style, his music and his lyrics. He just expressed so much creativity! This is exactly how Kid Cudi should sound when he tries to do rock and I hope that he listens to this track before recording his new album!

• Afrojack - Bangduck (Moguai Remix)
Afrojack - Bangduck (Moguai Remix) by djmoguai
Apparently Afrojack recorded Bangduck as diss record because he felt that Boris Dlugosch copied his sound on his club banger “Bangkok”. Sounds pretty ridiculous to me, but I do like the song!

• Pusha T - Trouble on my mind feat Tyler the Creator

Pusha T - Trouble On My Mind (Feat. Tyler, The Creator) from EmekDuzIt on Vimeo.
Wow, this song and especially the video is wrong on so many levels. But that’s exactly the controversy that Tyler the creator likes, I just don’t think that this behavior reall fits Pusha T. I mean he is more known for miming the coke dealer instead of being a stick up kid.

• The Cool Kids - Swimsuits feat Mayer Hawthorne
Swimsuits (feat. Mayer Hawthorne) - The Cool Kids by audreyannasmith
This song is just a perfect summer tune. Captivating beat, good rhymes and a chorus by Mayer Hawthorne pretty much seals the deal for me.

• Big Boi - Shutterbug (Vodka & Milk Remix)
Big Boi - Shutterbug (Vodka & Milk Remix) by freshnewtracks
Big Boi’s “Shutterbug” was a huge summer hit last year and one of the standout trcks from his “Sir Luscious Left Foot” Album and the Vodka&Milk Remix does the song justice by adding a great new beat to the already perfect song.
