In light of my recent post on Ryan Gosling, the news of this movie gets me quite excited! I had no idea, that the great Danish director Nicolas Winding Refn was filming another movie with his "Drive" leading actor. "Only God Forgives" is another crime thriller that seems to be in line with Drive style- and brutality-wise.
Next to Gosling the movie stars Kristin Scott Thomas and is set in Bangkonk where the lead character Julian is involved in some underworld drug activities that certainly do not end well. The movie will hit US-theaters on July 19 and could definately shoot Winding Refn up to other cult directors such as Quentin Tarantino! Let's hope that it is as good as "Drive".

This year sees the release of many great movies. My personal standout is definately "The Great Gatsby" by Baz Luhrman which features numerous great actors such as Leonardo DiCaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan! Since the original book from F. Scott Fitzgerald is by far my favorite book of all time, I hope that I do not get my hopes too high. I think it is the right time for filming a new version of the book tho, since the 1974 movie with Robert Redford and Mia Farrow is good but I never really felt that it lived up to its potential.
As you can tell, I am very excited how Luhrman will portray the amazing story about the mysterious Jay Gatsby and his desperate love to Daisy narrated by Nick Carraway who is introduced into the world of the "roaring twenties" with all its glamour, parties and intrigues.

I have been a fan of Jonah Hill since the first time I watched "Superbad". Lately it seemed as if he was trying to star in more serious movies, but the trailer to his newest movie "The Sitter" shows that he hasn't forgotten about his comedy roots. While the story of a babysitter who looses control about the kids sounds pretty lame, the movie trailer looks awesome. I am totally going to see this one when it comes out!

Now this was a shocker for me! I didn't know that they actually planned to continue the Mission Impossible series and I haven't heard a thing about any new movies starring Tom Cruise. On the other hand, it totally makes sense for Mr. "Crazy Cruise" to take on his role as Ethan Hunt again since this is probably the easiest way for him to reach a mass audience. The trailer looks actually pretty entertaining with explosions, hot girls and lots of action!

Now this looks like an interesting movie! As we all know the T-Shirt is one of the best way to show interests, creativity and political views. Director Julien Potart wanted to make a movie about this phenomenon in fashion and was able to get interviews with some of the most important people of street-, fashion- and youth-culture from the last decades like Busy-P, American Apparell founder Dov Charney, Tony Alva, Jim Philips, Mark the Cobrasnake and VERBA. The movie will air in french television on Canal+ on june 29 on 10.40 pm.

Here we have the trailer for Brad Pitt's new movie "Moneyball" which seems to be one of these stereotypical sports movies that are always fun to watch. It tells the true story of Oakland Athletics general manager Billy Beane, played by Mr. Pitt, who tries to change the Baseball league by creating a team with miniscule budget. What will be interesting to watch is how Jonah Hill plays his first serious role as advisor Peter Brand.
