Finally the summer is here in Germany and I think it’s only right to give you some new tunes to chill and lay in the sun to. Most of these songs are pretty laid back and perfect for a BBQ or riding through the city at night with your bike.

John Mayer – Born and Raised: I have always been a huge John Mayer fan because because his music always fits certain moods and keeps me listening to his albums over and over again. Somehow his songs never get old even though they all sound alike. Therefore his new album has been on constant repeat since I got it and especially the title track stands out. Perfect for the theme of this MOLIMU Music Check!
Dante – Next to You I stumbled upon this song last week and loved it right from the beginning! The mixture of great vocals and synthies reminds me quite a bit of a poppier version of Jai Paul. Never really heard of Dante before, but everyone should check out his music, you won’t be dissapointed!
Paradis - Hémisphère There’s something about the French language that mixes perfectly with dreamy Pop tunes. The bandname „Paradis“ and some of the songtitles like „Hémisphère“ or „Parfait Tirage“ already give you a hint that this is pure dreamy-goodness! Listen to this when you are laying next to the pool with a cool drink in your hand and life can’t get much better!
Electric Guest – the entire Mondo album
This Head I Hold American Daydream Troubleman The album „Mondo“ from Electric Guest has to be one of the best releases in 2012 so far! Because of the songs’ versatility it never gets boring! From the funked-out tune „This Head I hold“ to the slow indie goodness of „American Daydream“ or „Troubleman“ this album is a definite keeper!
St. Lucia - Closer Than This (Viceroy Remix) Last year we had „Young Blood“ by the Naked & Famous and „Dancing to the DJ“ by the Knocks. This year the good mood party music is provided by St. Lucia. The poppy mix of electro and singalong choruses is just the perfect fit for summer!
Tiron – Love Me Not ft. Schoolboy Q I’ve been bumping all of the Black Hippy Crew releases quite a bit this year from Kendrick Lamar to Schoolboy Q this new direction in Hip Hop has been a MOLIMU favorite! This song is laidback and simple but still quite the germ!
Childish Gambino - We ain’t Them Mr. Glover has been churning out new music all week long and started it off with this song. The lyrics are as always very honest and straight forward. New music from Gambino is never a bad thing so I’m excited for his new mixtape that is supposed to drop this summer.
SBTRKT – Living like I Do SBTRKT let loose of this song a couple weeks ago and I cannot understand why this tune never made it onto any official release! This exactly what I love about SBTRKT’s music, it’s driving, has great vocals and transports an emotional mood. The singer is Sampha who was already featured on SBTRKT’s song „Hold On“.
Twista – Ain’t too Young Now ft. Tia London This song is a classic southern slow-jam and I’ve always loved these swagged out rhymes over minimalistic beats and with great choruses. This reminds me of the songs that I used to love from Twista back in the day like „Slow Jamz“, „Overnight Celebrity“ or „Yo Body“.
