Apparently Social Network platform "MySpace" has been sold to a pretty much unknown company named Specific Media. Especially the shocking price of only 35 Mio. $ clearly shows that the site seems to have hit rockbottom after struggling over the last few years. When Rupert Murdoch's News Corp bought the company in 2005 they had to pay 580 Mio. $! Back then the social network site was far ahead of its competitors like Facebook, but even though News Corp made huge investments it ultimately lost its leading role to Zuckerberg & Co. There are rumors that Justin Timberlake is involved in the buyout and wants to rethink the concept behind "MySpace". We will see how the site performs in the future, but right now it looks like we have another expensive online-hype turned failure!
